About The Department
The Department of Physics started its journey in 2006. Initially combination paper for the general degree course in Physics had been offered under the University of Burdwan UG syllabus till 2017-18, the curriculum of the CBCS norm implemented from the session of 2017-18 and the CCF norm implemented from the session of 2023–24.
In spite of different sort of limitations, since the establishment of college, the department of Physics has been performing a challenging job to run and popularize the subject in this rural area and it is very pleasing to note that a significant number of the pass-out students of this department have either gone to Higher Education or joined Government Offices on regular basis.
At present the department has two full-time teachers and a moderate laboratory. The department has successfully hosted two interdisciplinary webinars; one national and one international. The faculties have been involved in a variety of capacities; such as convenor of university examination, paper setter, answer script evaluator etc. in the affiliating university. They actively participate in research, off-campus social activities as well. The faculties of this department have been playing a key role in enhancing the quality of IT facilities in the college too, through the ICT committee.
