About The Department
The Department of Philosophy Indas Mahavidyalaya, Bankura begun its journey since 2006 with General Course. The Department introduced Honours Course in the academic session 2020-2021 with having affiliation from Bankura University. A good numbers of students get admitted in the Honours course as well as in General Degree Course. At present the department functions with one Substantive Teacher (Dr. Kaushik Mahapatra) and one SACT (Mr. Surajit Mondal). The Department is committed to fulfill student’s success and broadening its recognition to achieve excellence in students learning despite of some infrastructural challenges.
The Department is also distinctive in combining a humanistic orientation with a commitment to philosophical accuracy. We value clarity of expression and logical precision, and we believe that philosophical work is augmented when it is animated by a range of conversations in the humanities, social sciences and arts. The department has friendly and interactive relationship between teachers and students. The department also provides career counselling of the students at personal level.
